This
activity works with geometric sequences. To begin, spin the spinner four
times. Use these numbers to create a geometric sequence. One number needs
to be the first term (a) of the sequence. Two of the numbers will be the
common ratio (r), one of which is the numerator of the ratio, and the other
is the denominator of the ratio. The last number will indicate how many
terms of the geometric sequence you are to determine.
After
everyone has created one sequence, exchange papers
and see if each of you can compute the indicated number of terms
of the sequence given to you. As a group, check the accuracy of these
computations.
